ON THE RAMP
Aircraft ground handling in Sri Lanka
SEAS coordinates aircraft ground handling for business, private, and other non-scheduled flights at Sri Lanka’s principal international gateways. From marshalling, ramp services, and aircraft servicing to passenger, crew, and CIQ coordination, we arrange the people, equipment, and documentation needed for a safe, efficient turnaround.
Our operations desk coordinates handling alongside permits, fuel, slots, transport, and accommodation, giving your flight department one point of contact throughout the movement. Service availability, operating hours, and airport-specific requirements are confirmed for each flight before arrival.
FLIGHT SUPPORT SERVICES
Everything the operation needs, coordinated together.
Ramp and aircraft movement.
We coordinate aircraft marshalling, parking, chocks and cones, ground power, air-start, towing, and pushback where available and required. At Bandaranaike International Airport, marshalling and ground-handling services are provided through the designated handler, SriLankan Airlines.
Passenger and crew handling.
We coordinate arrival and departure assistance, customs, immigration, and health formalities, passenger and crew transport, baggage handling, lounge or VIP arrangements where available, and hotel accommodation.
Aircraft servicing.
We arrange potable water, lavatory service, cabin cleaning, catering, waste removal, refuelling, and other turnaround services subject to aircraft type, airport capability, and supplier availability.
Load and flight documentation.
We coordinate General Declarations, passenger and crew information, load-control requirements, flight-plan support, and communication with the operator’s flight department. The exact documentation depends on the aircraft, operation, airport, and local authority requirements.
Cargo and special movements.
We coordinate cargo and baggage handling for eligible passenger, cargo, charter, ambulance, relief, and combi operations. Cargo acceptance, bonded handling, dangerous goods, customs procedures, loading equipment, and warehouse arrangements must be confirmed in advance for each airport.
SEAS coordinates complete ground-handling support at Sri Lanka’s principal international gateways, using the designated airport handler and approved local suppliers as required.

Airport-specific operational notes
Bandaranaike International Airport, Colombo/Katunayake (VCBI / CMB)
VCBI is the most operationally straightforward gateway for international business aviation. The AIP lists H24 customs, immigration, health, fuelling, handling, and security, but handling must be arranged with the designated handler (SriLankan Airlines) before landing.
Colombo International Airport, Ratmalana (VCCC / RML)
Ratmalana operates on published daily hours of 0030–1230 UTC. Customs, immigration, fuelling, and handling are listed as HJ, so after-hours movements require advance confirmation and may require additional arrangements.
Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (VCRI / HRI)
Mattala’s AIP lists customs, immigration, health, fuelling, handling, and security as H24. Service coordination is still required in advance because aircraft type, parking, passenger processing, cargo, and fuel requirements may affect the final arrangement.
Jaffna International Airport / Kankesanturai (VCCJ / JAF)
Jaffna requires special planning for international operations. The AIP lists the airport and CIQ services as HJ and states that 48 hours’ prior notice is required for international landings. Handling and ramp support are strictly by prior arrangement.
